This would make any company nervous and while Apple doesn't seem bothered as they don't offer any budget friendly laptops, Microsoft has taken notice and have announced the release of a Chrome OS competitor.

Some are going to focus on Chrome and Google's apps. If nothing else, Windows 10 S will answer the question, "Why did WinRT fail?" Its 11.6-inch HD touchscreen display is pressure resistant to avoid damage from overzealous stylus taps, the case is protected by shock-absorbent rubber bumpers and the chiclet keyboard can resistant up to 11 ounces of water. However, we will have to wait and see if this operating system has any effects on the battery life at all.
