The all-new Dzire shares the same new HEARTECT platform as those adopted for the all-new Swift, which is being sold in Japan, Europe, and other countries from 2017.

Maruti Suzuki has launched one of the most awaited cars of the year, the all-new Dzire with prices starting at Rs 5.45 lakh (petrol variant, ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 6.45 lakh (diesel variant, ex-showroom Delhi).

In terms of fuel economy the diesel variant delivers 28.4 km per litre, while the petrol fuel efficiency stands at 22 km per litre.

The new vehicle is based on the HEARTECH platform which claims to make the auto lighter, stronger, more rigid and safer.

"Maruti Suzuki, together with its suppliers, has invested over Rs 1,000 crore for the development of the all-new Dzire", the statement said.

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that it has received 33,000 bookings for the new Dzire till date and the waiting period has already stretched up to 8 weeks. However, this is one of the few places where the Dzire loses out.

Now, the company has chose to drop the prefix "Swift" from the name of the upcoming new generation Dzire.

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has launched the third generation of its highly successful compact sedan Dzire.

The petrol variant comes with the VVT 1.2 litre petrol K series engine and the diesel variant is fixed with the DDiS 190 1.3 litre engine.

A market leader in its segment, the DZire has cumulatively clocked sales of 1.38 million units since its launch in the Indian market. Maruti starts offering the five-speed automated manual gearbox options from this trim onwards.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets the existing model's powertrains. At 28.4 kmpl* the New DzireDiesel is India's most fuel efficient vehicle.

According to RS Kalsi, the new Maruti will be produced only at Manesar plant for now although there is sufficient capacity available at the Gurgaon plant as well.

The Z trim (ZXi, ZDi) packs in alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering, rear parking sensors, fog lamps, rear defogger, keyless go, auto climate control and electric retract wing mirrors.

Customers will also appreciate the superior fuel efficiency of the New Dzire. Launched at INR 4.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Dzire becomes compliant with futuristic norms which will come into effect from October 2017. The rear seats also get ISOFIX child anchorages.
