A "horrific" shooting in an OH town has killed one woman and injured eight people, including three children, police say.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in Colerain Township near Cincinnati.
The Colerain Township police chief said at a news conference Sunday afternoon that two men opened fire Saturday night with handguns in the living room of the home. She told a 911 dispatcher that two men went inside the home, but they didn't see her. One of the nine shooting victims, a woman, was listed in serious condition, according to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
One victim is in critical condition, three are in fair condition and one is in stable condition according to the hospital. Police do not have a clear motive for the shooting. The shooter or shooters ran away and haven't been caught.
Woman dies and children injured after gunman opens fire at gender reveal party
A neighbor said she heard what sounded like firecrackers and thought nothing of it because a nearby bar was planning to have a fireworks display that night.
Victims' names and ages had yet to be released.
WLWT reported that Jim Love of the Colerain police has no idea what motivated the men to start shooting at a gender reveal party.
The partygoers were watching a movie when gunfire rang out, police said.
"You're hoping that there won't be situations like this", said Love.
