Posted July 05, 2017

Asus has, after a series of leaks, announced the fourth generation of its battery-oriented smartphone series with the launch of the Zenfone 4 Max. This is one of six phones to come.

The device comes with a 5.7-inch WQHD Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, which makes it an ideal device to run augmented reality apps.

In the imaging department, the smartphone will flaunt dual rear cam of 13+5MP.

The Zenfone 4 Max nearly retains the company's design approach with a few changes on the front. Erstwhile, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and is backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery.

It will be available in two variants: one featuring an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor and other a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor. So, the other Zenfone 4 models are also expected to come as two variants. The internal storage is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. As for the front camera, not much is interesting there: it's your regular, run-of-the-mill 8 MP shooter, which also has the ability to make 140-degree selfie panoramas.

There is a fingerprint sensor for providing secured transactions and secured data. Along with a regular 13-megapixel f/2.0 lens, the Zenfone 4 Max also carries another 13-megapixel 120-degree wide angle lens which is certainly the first in its price bracket. The bundled USB OTG cable ensures that users can utilize the handset as a power bank for other devices.
