Scott also has an impressive resume, recently starring as Kimberly Hart, the Pink Ranger, in the big-screen "Power Rangers" reboot.
Will Smith is among the first names to be confirmed for Disney's forthcoming live-action remake of Aladdin.
Massoud has secured the coveted role of Aladdin while Scott will be playing Jasmine in the Guy Ritchie-directed Aladdin movie. Aladdin will be the most recent installment of Disney's live-action adaptations.
The British director, 48, is reworking the remake of Disney's 1992 classic with Sean Bailey, head of motion picture production at Walt Disney. The announcement came with a pointed, veiled from Bailey about The Hollywood Reporter's article on the studio's hard finding their young male lead.
Bailey also reiterated that "the unbelievable Genie will be played by the equally incredible Will Smith".
The film - which was the highest grossing of that year - told the story of Aladdin a young street urchin who falls in love with the handsome princess Jasmine.
Shooting on the film will begin relatively soon (August) in London, so more casting announcements are bound to be made within the next few weeks.
Will Smith will voice the Genie.
