No Lukaku deal struck yet, say Everton

The Real Madrid striker is widely reported to be upset that United have turned their attentions to Lukaku instead of him, just as the two clubs were closing in on a deal.

News that a £75-million (S$134m) transfer had been agreed for the 24-year-old Belgium striker broke yesterday.

Lukaku is now on vacation in the US, and has never hidden his intention of playing for a bigger team and testing himself on a bigger stage.

United are in for Rodriguez after pulling out of the deal to sign Morata.

One man you'd expect to be in the know about the Everton to United transfer would be a man who has played and coached at both Everton and United - Phil "Pip" Neville. But, Real's continuous heckling in terms of asking price inflation left United frustrated and it looks like the Red Devils moved quickly to get an alternate player for the said position.

Could Lukaku develop into the Premier League's best striker under Jose Mourinho?

Chelsea is trying to not be swayed by the revelations and will continue to up its interest in Lukaku, according to the Guardian.

The latest Premier League news is claiming Manchester United are closing on a record-smashing £100 million move for Everton's and Belgian global Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea had believed that they were in pole position to land the Belgian, and utilize him as Diego Costa's replacement.

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are still in with a shout of landing Lukaku, but with the player set to undergo a medical with United, barring a dramatic U-turn, this now looks unlikely.

News of Chelsea's bid came after Phil Neville jumped the gun by posting a picture of Lukaku wearing a Manchester United shirt. The arrival of Everton talisman Lukaku will provide United with much-needed speed up top, and that in turn will give Mourinho license to set his side out in a variety of systems.
