Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Mix will remain available for all Sky customers. "We're improving our service even further, super-serving existing customers and providing flexibility to a whole new generation of sports fans", he noted.

Sky says that it is ditching its traditional Sky Sports 1 to 5 lineup and replacing it with 10 channels including two new football stations.

Chief Executive of Sky UK and Ireland Stephen van Rooyen said Sky is dedicated to offer customers "unrivalled service".

Prices start at £18 and go up to £27.50 for all channels.

"With new dedicated sports channels including Sky Sports Premier League and a Main Event channel, it's never been simpler for licensees to find and show the sports that matter most to pubgoers".

But for BT TV customers the news is now less positive. Two specialist channels will launch for soccer - Sky Sports Premier League will show 126 games from England's top flight each season, and Sky Sports Football will show coverage including the English Football League, Spain's La Liga and global fixtures - while individual channels will launch for cricket and golf to join the existing Sky Sports F1.

"Sky Sports is giving customers even more choice and channels at the same price for another 12 months, while opening up new ways for sports fans to join".

A monthly rolling NowTV subscription to Sky Sports is now UK£33.99, with daily and weekly passes also available.

You can subscribe to just one of these for £18 a month, two for £22 or three for £26.

Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Football are among 10 Sky Sports channels that will launch next month as part of a summer shake-up to bring you closer to the sports that have you on the edge of your seat.
