A first look at Samsung's three new wearables

The announcement follows much gossip that rival Apple will also be announcing a new smartwatch on September 12, along with the hotly anticipated iPhone 8. The Gear Sport includes a built-in Global Positioning System, running features, and the ability to track your calories throughout the day.

The Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro is the newest fitness band that improves on the original Gear Fit2, a wearable I actually found to be one of the better options, especially at its reasonable price.

Away from fitness, these buds are also Bixby-friendly so you can tap and hold one earbud to use your voice to control your music. The Gear Sport is smaller and sportier than their previous smartwatches, which are both aspects we wholeheartedly welcome. Stay tuned with us for more updates from the IFA 2017!

Smart sensors and the Speedo On app allow key swim metrics like Lap count, lap time and stroke time to be tracked easily with swimming goals now counting toward your daily achievements. 5 ATM waterproofing makes it usable even while swimming while heart rate monitoring keeps your body's engine in check. It also works with Android 4.4, iOS 9.0 or later. The Gear Sport will arrive in black or blue models (pictured above).

"Thanks to features like water and caffeine intake recording and auto sleep tracking, our new range of wearables are created to help Australians bring balance to their lives", he said.

Pricing and availability of these new Samsung wearables for Singapore are yet to be confirmed. However, if those last two features really excited you, you are probably so invested in the Samsung ecosystem, you were already considering buying a Gear Sport anyways.

The watch has connected tricks for Samsung ecosystem things: it's able to hook into Samsung Connect to control IoT devices, and it can be a wrist remote for Samsung Gear VR, which is something I've thought about for years.

First up is the Gear Sport, which features a 1.2-inch circular 360×360 AMOLED display, an Always On function and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It's not meant to replace that watch, but it's a smaller and you might say more fun wearable with an assortment of band options and numerous features that have made Samsung's wearables notable. The Samsung Gear Sport comes with MIL-STD-810G certification and water-resistant up to 5 atmospheres (about 50 meters). The Gear Fit2 Pro also comes with heart rate sensor, gyroscope and barometer. Spotify's Offline mode lets you listen to your favorite music online, offline or even without your smartphone so you can enjoy your favorite tunes regardless of location.
