Ravens Refute Report That Bisciotti Vetoed Kaepernick Deal

Kaepernick became a flashpoint last season when he kneeled during the pre-game playing of the USA national anthem in a bid to bring attention to civil rights issues, a move that followed several controversial shooting of African-American men by white police officers across the nation.

However, others have pointed out that Bisciotti never asked for fans opinion during Ray Rice's domestic violence incident or during linebacker Ray Lewis' involvement in a murder case.

Kaepernick has remained unsigned since he opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers on March 1.

In the video, Lewis also says he's got nothing against Kaepernick and "I applaud what you stood up for".

"Now if you told me this guy threw eight pick-sixes previous year and played like a bum, had no talent, that's one thing", he said.

On July 26, it was reported that Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco could be out for a couple of preseason games due to a back injury. "That's where it's so troublesome to me".

Harbaugh provided no update on the situation following Wednesday's training camp practice.

"He played in Chip (Kelly)'s system previous year and went 16-4 (TD-to-INT ratio) on a bad team", Sherman told USA Today Sports.

Kaepernick is better than well over half of the league's backup quarterbacks and a handful of starters.

"We're very sensitive to [the situation], and we're monitoring it and we're still, as [Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome] says, we're scrimmaging it. Whoever is making those claims is wrong". "When it comes to football, the reason why we call sports the equalizer is because you can come in here and have a different view, but if you can perform and are respectful, then you can have a chance, Watson said (via the AP)". Though the team pushed back against these rumors, issuing a statement that Bisciotti did not make any directives not to sign Kaepernick, there are increasing rumors that the team's resistance is a real, and a sign that Kaepernick could have no future in the league. Kaepernick threw for 16 touchdowns, four interceptions with a 55.2 quarterback rating in 11 starts. The Ravens have said they've spoken with Kaepernick, and have discussed the possibility of adding him with current and former players, as well as with fans and sponsors.

"Not a lot of guys are willing to step out there", he told Bell.
