SNES Classic Will Be Available for Pre-Order This Month, Honest

Posted August 02, 2017

We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.

SNES Classic pre-orders got a false start when Walmart started taking orders before abruptly cancelling them last week. It's great that Nintendo claims it will have a "significant amount" of SNES Classic Edition units, but that's not exactly reassuring.

The fervent demand has all but made pre-orders a necessity.

The pint-sized machine will come loaded with 21 fan-favorites including Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man X, Super Mario World and F-Zero as well as two wired controllers for $79.99.

The Super NES Classic will finally be available to preorder in late August, says Nintendo.

Keep multiple tabs open from multiple retailers; keep an eye on nowinstock's website; call your local GameStop regularly after mid-month comes and goes and ask them when you'll be able to pre-order your console. Unfortunately, there was no mention of specific dates which presumably means that each retailer will launch pre-orders on the date of their choosing.

Unveiled in June, the SNES Classic is a reinvented miniature version of the classic 1990's video game console. Especially with Nintendo only shipping the SNES Classic until the end of 2017, it will surely keep the market rushing to buy the product, considering it would only be selling on the market for a limited amount of time.
