Now, as several leaks seemingly reveal, it looks like that service is finally coming to the Xbox One.
If the service is indeed coming to the Xbox One, after all the Windows 10 app was recently converted to a Universal Windows Program, it will give users yet another option for streaming music on the console alongside Microsoft's Xbox Music, and Pandora.
Although Microsoft allows Xbox players to stream their own music and even listen to them in the background while playing their favourite games on the platform, having Spotify on Xbox One means getting access to a larger library of content with new music being added constantly. But if that was the only evidence, this might be little more than smoke.
Sony announced its exlusive deal with Spotify back in 2015 for both PS3 and PS4. The app also seamlessly integrates into the PlayStation 4's quick menu overlay, which we expect would function similarly on the Xbox One. The company has made their app available on many devices including Android, iOS, Windows 10, and the PlayStation consoles (by way of PlayStation Music).
Rumours are swirling that the music-streaming service Spotify could be making its way onto the Xbox One in the not-too-distant future.
