Taylor Swift Announces New Single and Album Release Date

Posted August 24, 2017

Swift announced that Reputation, her sixth studio album, will drop on November 10 and its first single will be unveiled on Friday.

Swift decorated her Instagram page Wednesday afternoon with a few glimpses of the black-and-white cover, which features a stark image of the singer next to several newspaper clippings.

Even though it's been almost three years since Swift's 1989 - which won the Album of the Year Grammy - she hasn't been a stranger to the charts.

Timeless.com was registered to Taylor Swift, leading many to believe that "Timeless" will be the name of her first single, or will at least figure into the album in some other way.

It's been almost three years since Swift's last album - "1989" - which won the Album of the Year Grammy. Preceded by a series of Instagram videos of a decidedly nasty-looking snakes slithering across her feed, Swift's announcement also indicated a new single slated for release Thursday.

Exactly how her teases tie into her album's overall theme is not yet clear, but they could be a reference to her complicated history with the animal. The 36-year-old beauty and her husband Kanye West fell out with Taylor over the lyrics in the rapper's Famous track last year, in which he referred to the singer as a b***h*, and Kim now fears a backlash. Swift, you better be ready.

If the first single-reportedly entitled "Timeless", based on a mysterious website that went live earlier this week-is really nine minutes long, Swift may have to abbreviate it a bit.

We don't know what the new song is called, but, according to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, it is "poppy".

The two graphics Swift uploaded alongside the album art are included below.

After all, even Beyoncé had to perform a medley when she played Lemonade at the VMAs.
