€40m winger: 'Liverpool the only club for me'

The England winger completed a deadline day move to Liverpool from Arsenal in a deal that could rise up to the £40m mark based on his performances in the Red shirt.

Despite the rumoured interest from Chelsea, Oxlade-Chamberlain insists that he only ever wanted a move to Liverpool but only after he made the hard choice to leave Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is expected to make his debut for Liverpool on Saturday, September 9, in their tie at Manchester City.

The England global told Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday show back in October 2016 that he was unhappy with his lack of game time with the Gunners, per Sky Sports' Patrick Surlis.

The Arsenal legend explained on Sky Sports: "He spoke on the Liverpool website about that he could see Klopp making him a better player and that there's a love and togetherness".

Schwarzer, though, thinks Oxlade-Chamberlain made the right decision turning down the chance to sign for the Premier League champions.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal at the age of 18 from Southampton after coming through the youth ranks at St Mary's, going on to make 198 first team appearances in all competitions for the Gunners. I'm thinking 'are you telling us what you didn't have at Arsenal?' Are you looking for something else?

He trained with the rest of the squad on Thursday and afterwards Klopp told liverpoolfc.com: "Of course - all good, all good".

"Even when he was at [Borussia] Dortmund, you see these things from the outside when you look at managers and the way they work", he added.

"He also need to bring something to the table in order to get better, it's not only the manager". "I'll miss the first few games but I'm sure the lads will put us into a great position".

"He will play a lot more of an attacking role and he is more exciting to watch in that more forward role, rather than a wing-back position".

"I can not come out with every single conversation I have with the players".
