The military denies widespread reports it has committed atrocities, saying it only targeted those belonging to the militant Arakan Salvation Rohingya Army (Arsa) which launched the attacks.

However, the persecution of Rohingyas is not a new phenomenon. The State must rescind the order of deportation, and extend a helping hand to a community that is generally considered the most persecuted in the world. "The leaders of Myanmar who have always been striving for freedom and human rights would not espouse such policies".
Myanmar's government has rejected any use of the term "Rohingya".

Cayetano's statement, issued supposedly on behalf of the 10-member bloc, clearly sidesteps the Myanmar government's crimes against the minority Rohingya people in a crisis the United Nations' human rights chief earlier this month called "a textbook example of ethnic cleansing", the Malaysian foreign minister said.
The Myanmar UN ambassador called the Rakhine State issue "extremely complex" and urged the UN member states and the global community "to see the situation in northern Rakhine objectively and in an unbiased manner". There is enough documented evidence by well-respected authorities and sources which show the horrific situation in the Rakhine state, the genocide that the Rohingya are fleeing.
It stated that the the foreign ministers "acknowledged that the situation in Rakhine State is a complex inter-communal issue with deep historical roots" and urged all parties to '"actions that will further worsen the situation on the ground". Her indifferent behaviour towards Rohingyas has undermined her reputation being a noble peace prize laureate and advocate of democracy and human rights.
The government said the bodies were found after a search near Ye Baw Kya village in northern Rakhine. Under all such circumstances, worldwide pressure has mounted on Myanmar to take immediate action to stop the violence against Rohingyas but no substantial measures have been taken by the Myanmar government. In line with these remarks some responsible countries have taken measures such as suspending assistance programs to Myanmar and freezing military ties with the country, Siddiki added.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak also attended a major rally in solidarity with the Rohingya, which was held in Kuala Lumpur a year ago.
