Fugitive Honeypreet Insan, a close aide of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, was arrested on Tuesday and will be produced in a trial court of Haryana's Panchkula on Wednesday, police said.

"We need to investigate her role in the Panchkula violence on August 25 and hence we will seek her police remand", he added.

After Dera Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's arrest and sentenced 20 years in jail, there raised a question in the Gurmeet team that who is the next chief of Dera Sacha Sauda? She also travelled along with him in a special chopper which ferried them to Rohtak from Panchkula after the conviction.

The Haryana Police has been conducting searches at various locations to trace Honeypreet and two other key Dera functionaries. This is obnoxious allegation because I went to court with police custody and with permission of police officials and I was crying after listening the court verdict against my Papa and I had no power and sense to instigate people.

Honeypreet also explained why she did not go to the police.

On being asked why she remained in hiding if she was innocent, Honeypreet said that the whole episode sent her into depression. "The court permitted me to be with papa", she said. She was on the run for over a month after being accused of inciting violence following the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a rape case.

Asked whether she had brought Ram Rahim Singh into movies, Honeypreet said it was a complete lie.

Honeypreet also spoke to News 24 and said that she will surrender after she is able to get hold of the right legal advice and she, in fact, never fled to Nepal. "Please do not believe these rumours".

Earlier, look out notice and arrest warrant was also issued against Honeypreet Insan after she failed to surrender in front of the police over the sedition charges. "Everything ended after he went to jail", said Honeypreet. "I am being joined by people with a similar mindset", says Sandeep Mishra in the video, according to India Today.

Referring to her pleas of innocence about her and Ram Rahim, Gupta wondered "which thief will accept that he has stolen something".
