The trailer of Bhansali's next film, the much-awaited Padmavati, just hit the web and has already set expectations soaring.

Deepika Padukone as the attractive, elegant and unibrowed Queen Padmini aka Padmavati was enough to make the Twitterati fall in love with the gorgeousness of the actress, while Shahid Kapoor as Padmavati's husband, the grim, battle-ravaged Maharawal Ratan Singh was a delight and a revelation.

Karan also said Bhansali is "on the top of his game" and that he is eagerly waiting for his magnum opus, "Padmavati" to release.

Padmavati landed in controversy as Rajput community turned against Sanjay Leela Bhansali for making this movie.

The little over three-minutes trailer shows glimpses of the story of Rani Padmini aka Padmavati.

The three-minute long trailer video opens on a grand canvas showcasing the vast expanse of Chittor's fort and moves to beautiful, love-filled visuals of Rani Padmavati (Deepika) and Ratan Singh (Shahid). It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Sonu Sood and Danny Denzongpa. Shahid Kapoor has been apt but it is Ranveer Singh who steals the show.

Ranveer's character of Alauddin Khilji swept us off our feet, as he would play an antagonist in the film, and his appearance makes it more intriguing.

Deepika Padukone looks elegant and suits the role of a princess in the trailer.

The romance-war drama looks every bit a spectacle that transports the audience to the 14th century, where the Rajputs ruled.

The one thing that broke the internet today was definitely the "Padmavati" trailer.

Later in March, the group vandalized the Chittorgarh Fort.

The Background Music- The very first thing that entraps you in the trailer is the riveting background music that is given by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The movie will hit the screens on 1st December.
