"Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year ..."

The sequel was confirmed via Stallone in a previous Instagram post from September 1st. This confirms that Creed director and co-writer Ryan Coogler won't be involved with the sequel, as Stallone has already stated that he has written the movie's script.

Though the muscly Italian American has become most recognisable as the action hero star of Rocky, Rambo and, more recently, The Expendables, Stallone is an experienced director with eight films under his belt since 1978's Paradise Alley.

Sylvester Stallone has announced via Instagram that he will be directing and producing Creed 2, taking over for Ryan Coogler who wrote and directed 2015's Creed.

When you think of Sylvester Stallone, you think of Rocky.

His caption indicates he'll be at the helm of the production this time around. This is the sure fire way to go from oscar nominated to razzie winning.

As fans may know, Sly wrote the first six Rocky films and directed four of them, the last was 2006's Rocky Balboa. "2018" and adding the hashtags #Creed 2 #mgm #fitness #Rocky.

Coogler's Creed grossed a worldwide total of $173.6 million, against a budget of $35 million. Creed was a commercial and critical success, earning Stallone raves for his more nuanced performance as the aging ex-fighter. Post-"Creed", he's signed on to direct Marvel's first black superhero movie "Black Panther" which reunites him with Jordan.
