Argentina vs Nigeria: Sergio Aguero collapsed, rushed to hospital

Posted November 15, 2017

The Super Eagles shocked African football fans by skipping past Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria, who could only record one victory between themselves in Group B.

Kelechi Iheanacho's brilliant first half free kick halved the deficit before a second half brace from Arsenal's Alex Iwobi and a debut goal from Bryan Idowu ensured victory for the Eagles.

In the 73rd minute, Iwobi got his second goal of the night when he surged past his markers after he received a pass from substitute Ahmed Musa before he fired home.

Argentina only secured its spot in the next World Cup in the last round of South American qualifiers and has not delivered convincing performances without Messi.

Toyin Ibitoye, the Super Eagles media officer, who said this in an interview on Monday, noted that Amaju Pinnick, the NFF President, has raised the possibility of moving the Nation Cup qualifiers from March so that World Cup bound teams could use the window to ideal their preparations.

"It is reassuring that we now have a federation leadership so committed to making everything work that they arranged this meeting and allowed the players to contribute and then set out to sign the agreement".

"Considering the fact that we played like that for the first time makes it even greater!"

Troost-Ekong (7/10) - Solid as ever in Eagles defence.
