Goal setting is something the University of Utah volleyball team has talked about a lot this season and soon they get to check hosting rounds one and two of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship off their list.

The Lady Toppers (30-3) will face Notre Dame (22-9) at 4 p.m. CST Friday at Lexington in a first-round NCAA match at Memorial Coliseum.

The Fighting Hawks, who are back-to-back Big Sky Conference tournament champions, posted a school-record 30 wins this season. Junior outside hitter Roni Jones-Perry (4.72 kills per set, .280 hitting percentage) is a leading candidate for the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and BYU closed the season with seven straight wins. Under Hilbert, CSU is 19-20 in the NCAA Tournament, including six "Sweet 16" appearances.

"It's nearly to a point where, in any kind of tournament play, the committee looks at you've got a KU team qualified and a Missouri team qualified, what could be better than let's just have them play each other?" Then at 7 p.m., the Utes will follow with their match against Cleveland State.

The top four seeds in the tournament include No. 1 Penn State, No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Stanford and No. 4 Kentucky. The victor of Illinois State-IUPUI will advance to face Bowling Green (17-11) or host Green Bay (15-15).

The NCAA's evaluation and Wichita State's ambition finally matched.

Friday's first-round match between the former conference rivals will mark the second time Kansas and Missouri have met in the NCAA Tournament in the last three years.

With the No. 1 overall seed, Penn State will host the regional on December 8 and 9 as well. This year's Final Four is Dec 14-16 in Kansas City, Missouri.
