The official Overwatch website lists her as Moira O'Deorain, aged 48 and a Geneticist by occupation. She is a support healer character that can also dole out a surprising amount of damage and has an ability called Fade allowing for added mobility.
"Moira's biotic abilities enable her to contribute healing or damage in any crisis". The biggest of those is a brand new hero that's coming to the game in the near future: Moira. Today's new animated short is no different, giving fans perspective on what made Reinhardt who he is today.
Biotic Grasp - Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Moira is the sixth support class hero to join the rest of the large cast, bringing the support class' numbers up to match those of the defense and tank classes. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies' health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy. Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan outright joked her name should be spelled "OPAF".
Finally, her ultimate ability is named Coalescence, and sees Moira combine both her healing and damage talents, channelling a long-range beam that bypasses all barriers and works with or against anybody it comes across.
The new map, Blizzard World, is a theme park packed with references to every other Blizzard property, from StarCraft to Lost Vikings.
The map is a hybrid map, meaning it's part assault and part payload like Numbani. The PTR will feature the map soon, but you'll have to wait a while before being able to play with it on live servers.
