OnePlus 5T Will Stay Wired Like Most

Posted November 10, 2017

Ahead of the launch, the company has on its own volition revealed quite a lot about the upcoming device, to be called OnePlus 5T. The firm has touted that it will unveil its latest on November 16 and make it available for sale on November 21.

Taking to the company's forum, CEO Pete Lau has explained that while he believes wireless charging is an "exciting concept", it's not now as good as the company's wired Dash Charge.

As usual, OnePlus is teasing and confirming on the features that will be arriving on the OnePlus 5T before its official announcement. Hence, the existing wireless charging technology is incapable of charging smartphones quickly.

The iPhone X has several new features that have amazed users across the globe, including the incorporation of an OLED display screen, and new facial recognition software.

OnePlus is running this promotion through its "The Lab" program, and eager participants can fill out a forum to tell OnePlus why they should be considered as one of the lucky ten. This doesn't mean that the company is not going to try the wireless charging forever.

You could be among the first ten people to get their hands on the OnePlus 5T. "Just plug your device in, and Dash Charge produces 20 watts of power, reliably giving a day's power in half an hour", he said. "All you need is the Dash Charge cable and adaptor to consistently power your device at a superior rate". However, in order to introduce wireless charging, the Cupertino-based company has launched the 2017 iPhones with glass chassis. It also stays cool so you won't have to worry about overheating even if you are using the phone while charging.

"An attractive promise of wireless charging is that you can just set your phone down on a surface and charge". Interestingly, Apple has also added wireless charging support for this year's iPhone lineup.

Case in point, the Sign-up form requires you submit a short (300-word) review of the most impressive phone you've ever used, as well as a selection of the best smartphone photographs you've ever taken. Users can't really use the handset while it's charging that way, such as picking it up to play a game or take a photo, because they have to keep the phone in a certain position to wirelessly charge it on a pad.

"We'll consider adopting when the time is right".
