It's also worth noting that Fire TV Stick sales increased by more than 100% year over year.

Amazon Prime, the company's subscription delivery service that includes video streaming and other throw-in services, counted more than 4 million new paid or trial memberships during the holiday season.

This combined with the fact that Amazon is the largest retailer in the world, makes being blacklisted a negative impact on sales even for a company of Google's size.

Amazon's official statement regarding the matter reads,"Echo Show and FireTV now display a standard web view of YouTube.com and point customers directly to YouTube's existing website". Small businesses and entrepreneurs who sell their products on Amazon's platform accounted for almost 140 million items that were ordered.

This was Amazon's biggest holiday season to date, "with customers all around the world shopping at record levels", the company said in a press release. Both placed Amazon Alexa - the voice-based assistant software behind Amazon Echo - as the most downloaded app on Christmas Day.

Amazon's own hardware products - including Alexa-enabled devices, Echo Dot and Fire TV Sticks - were ranked as the best-selling products from any manufacturer in any category across the entire Amazon platform.

The most requested song from Alexa customers this holiday season was "Jingle Bells".

Amazon's Alexa app also topped the App Store charts for Apple's iPhone, presumably as people set up their new devices. Fulfillment by Amazon grants consumers free two-day shipping by having small businesses pre-ship items to Amazon fulfillment centers.

"Since Day One we have obsessed over what we believe our customers care about-incredible deals and low prices, fast and free shipping, and a wide selection of top products-and we continue to provide all three, all the time".
