For, new Vodafone customers, the company has a Rs 229 with the same benefits. And, last weekend, telecom operator Reliance Jio announced two new prepaid plans priced at ₹199 and ₹299 as a part of its Happy New Year 2018 offer. This 229 plan of Vodafone offers same benefits as the 199 plan with an added advantage that users opting for Vodafone 229 plan will get 1GB 4G data per day, 100 Free SMS per day and Unlimited calls. The plan also ensures free and unlimited SMS.
Airtel has also unveiled a Rs 199 plan that competes directly with Jio's new plans.
The validity of this prepaid recharge plan is 28 days. That said, this offer is open to all new Vodafone customers irrespective of which handset they're using. The difference is that in Vodafone 199 plan there is a limitation on free calls.
Vodafone has announced a new tariff plan for its prepaid users that offers 1 GB per data per day. Of course, the tariff is slightly higher from Jio's Rs 299 plan.
Vodafone in a statement has said that this ₹198 prepaid plan is available across all the circles having Vodafone's 4G network, however, when we checked on Vodafone's website, it was actually unavailable in circles like Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, Punjab and Chennai. But Vodafone falls short of Reliance Jio though as the new entrant is offering 1.2GB data per day for the same price.
Jio's Happy New Year plan gives tough competition to incumbent operator's plans. Validity for both plans is 2GB per day. This prepaid recharge plan comes bundled with free and unlimited STD, local and roaming voice calls and SMS benefits.
The new plan of the Telecom Operator Vodafone is valid in nearly every circle in India.
Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular too offer packs with similar benefits. Calling and SMS benefits are the same as company's Rs 199 offer. The daily 4G data limit is 2GB. Jio Rs 509 prepaid recharge plan Jio's Rs 509 prepaid recharge plan offers high speed data of 98 GBs for a validity period of 49 days.
