January 2018 Nintendo Direct Mini Covers Upcoming Switch Games

Posted January 12, 2018

Fans of the "MT" games already know what to expect from any sequel at this point, though Nintendo is including something fairly new for this latest installment (more on that later).

Also announced were Super Mario Odyssey DLC, Mario Tennis Aces, The World Ends With You: Final Remix and Kirby Star Allies. It's being re-released on the Switch. This spin-off fighting game includes only the women of the King of Fighters series and features up to two-on-two battles. Find it on Nintendo Switch this Summer. Donkey Kong is entering the turn-based strategy game, with a new story to boot. He'll be swinging into the game this Spring via a new DLC pack. Coming this Spring to Switch, every map, character, and mission from both the 3DS and Wii U game will be brought over.

The platforming, open-world adventure, Fe, is coming to the hybrid console.

We'll also see some new indies make their way to the Nintendo Switch. Expect Fe in February 16.

"A modern take on the action platformer", Celeste is the story of Madeline, who can pretty much climb everything and dash like nobody's business. And out of nowhere, Square Enix's Nintendo DS cult hit (released a solid decade ago) The World Ends With You is getting re-released on the Switch and will be available at some point in 2018. Play in old-fashioned pixels this month, January 25. The game arrives for Nintendo Switch on May 4. From Software's painfully hard and atmospheric RPG will be coming to a Nintendo console for the first time on May 25th.

It's finally been announced. The 2013 game Payday 2is also coming to the Switch on February 27th, complete with online cooperative gameplay. Nintendo never revealed there would be a Nintendo Direct on January 11th.

As for the software charts, Nintendo Switch begins the year in full force occupying most of the positions of the list, while PS4 contemplates a worrysome and ironic situation as the software sales don't match with the high numbers of hardware.
