LG Announces the HU80KA 4K UHD Projector - CES 2018

Posted January 05, 2018

With the global 4K projector market expected to grow rapidly, LG is confident that its leadership in the LED projector segment can be repeated in the 4K projector segment as well.

That being said, 4K projectors aren't exactly new, but LG is boasting that compared to the competition, their 4K projector is smaller, easy to install, and all done without sacrificing image quality, and also being easy on the wallet. So users are able to move it to another room if they wish to do so.

The new tiny 4K projector is one such project capable of projecting 150-inch screen on any wall in your house.

Carrying the model name HU80KA, the projector, according to LG, is created to provide users with a superior cinematic experience without having to compromise on the display quality. That allows the projector to show flawless images no matter where it is placed. The portable size of the projector and its unique upright position has been made possible by its in-built mirrorless I-shaped engine that enables it to project correct images whether it is placed on the floor, wall mounted or hanged from the ceiling. It supports HDR content (HDR 10) for an eye-popping cinematic experience in the home. Alternatively, external speakers or a sound bar can be connected via optical output, HDMI or wirelessly through Bluetooth for enhanced audio performance. Also there is the Auto Cord feature, allowing the cable to quickly wind up so that it makes moving the projector even easier. The LG HU80KA comes with LG's own webOS 3.5 installed. The connectivity options include the standard ports for USB, Ethernet and HDMI and also offer wireless support for external devices like a keyboard and mouse.

LG isn't yet sharing the HU80KA's pricing, but that's par for the course with home theater announcements at CES. The company will showcase its 2018 projector lineup at the CES 2018.
