Closeout sales will begin next week with all locations shuttered by May.

Sears Holdings has announced that a local K-Mart location will be closing in 2018.

Sears and Kmart will also be closing a total of 103 stores between March and April, which include six Seattle and Tacoma locations.

Sears has announced it will close its store in Bangor, Maine.

Sears Holdings is the parent company of both Sears and Kmart retail stores.

Sears Holdings closed almost 400 Sears and Kmart locations in 2017, according to Business Insider. "Eligible associates will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores". Most of the retailers' employees are part-time.

Liquidation sales will begin as early as January 12 at the dozens of stores across the country.

"We will continue to close some unprofitable stores as we transform our business model so that our physical store footprint and our digital capabilities match the needs and preferences of our members", the company said on Thursday.
