Donovan Mitchell will replace Aaron Gordon in the NBA Dunk Contest

Gordon, who has participated in the past two dunk contests including a bridesmaid finish a year ago, is suffering from a hip injury which forced him to miss the Magic's last three matches.

Oladipo averages 24 points and 4.1 assists per game, and he's not shy about showing off his skills close to the rim. He originally got sick before Friday night's win against the Phoenix Suns, but recovered in time to score 40 points. He tops all rookies in points and 3-pointers made (115).

Boston Celtics fans will remain disappointed, as high-flying wing Jaylen Brown was not selected as a substitute for Aaron Gordon in the slam dunk contest on NBA All-Star Saturday night.

The 25-year-old could become the second IN player IN a row to win the contest after Robinson took home the title IN 2017. The Magic are just 2-10 this season when Gordon has been out with ankle, concussion, groin and hip injuries.

Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell will participate in the dunk contest during NBA All-Star Weekend, replacing injured Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon.

The Slam Dunk Contest is slated for Saturday, February 17th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Gordon had competed in the past two All-Star dunk contests and finished as runner-up in 2016.

Gordon, a native of San Jose, Calif., wanted to compete in this year's dunk contest because it was being held in his home state and he said last week that it would be his final time appearing in the event.

One of Nance's best dunks of the 2018 season came against the Golden State Warriors, when he posterized Kevin Durant in transition. "I want to play this game for as long as I can".
