This time, they've got 20 million packets heading to every single McDonald's restaurant.
Rejoice, sauce fans: McDonald's is bringing back the Szechuan sauce. and it won't run out this time. During the show's third season, Rick reveals his motivation for the duo's adventures through time has been in search of the elusive dipping sauce, which he calls his "one-armed man" and "series arc if it takes 9 seasons!" "Between the costumes, the memes and the cross-state travel, you, the fans, showed us what you got", the statement read.
Burger giant McDonald's is planning to bring back its popular discontinued Szechuan sauce again.
"We disappointed fans and we are sorry".
McDonald's announced they would reintroduce the stuff last October, but lines of fans left empty handed, and in one case launched a small-scale riot - when the demand almost instantly outmatched the supply. The sauce was made famous by Adult Swim's Rick and Morty, and it continues to make headlines.
After McDonald's was woefully underprepared to handle the demand for Szechuan sauce after a namedrop in a single Rick and Morty episode, it will have 20 million packets available at restaurants nationwide starting February 26 that will hopefully satisfy customers' craving. As you might recall, the sweet and sour condiment caused a stroke of trouble across the country back in October when locations didn't have enough supply to meet the demand. The chain also adds that they will also announce how much Szechuan Sauce will be returning like it was a limited edition commodity. The limited batch was at a few McDonald's locations October 7.
McDonald's just didn't know the power of the Sauce.
Police were called to break-up protests outside some locations after receiving reports of customers jumping onto counters and screaming for Szechuan. Lunchtime typically means 10:30 a.m., when the restaurant kitchens start shifting over to the midday menu.
