Inspired by the popular home shirt England players wore in the 1982 World Cup, many questioned why the design hadn't been used as the new home shirt.

The ceremony featured a couple of Super Eagles stars, among which includes captain John Obi Mikel, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The away kit has the shirt with the predominantly light green background with bold white V-shaped patterns drawn on it.

Meanwhile, Nike also unveiled England's World Cup strips - a white home shirt with blue shorts, and a red away jersey with white shorts. Later the kit designer, Nike Football shared a video on their official YouTube channel, which reveals several of the national team's key men catching a first glimpse of the team's new attire.

"With Nigeria, we wanted to tap into the attitude of the nation", said Dan Farron, Nike Football Design Director, in the kit's press release. We are also introduced to the athlete journey pieces which we'll likely see our players wear off the pitch. Two-time world champions, Argentina will also face Iceland and Croatia in the preliminary round in Russian Federation.

The Super Eagles will be appearing in their sixth World Cup in Russian Federation after previous appearances at the US 1994, France 1998, Korea/Japan 2002, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.
