Google Maps to introduce Mario Kart mode to celebrate "Mario Day"

In celebration of Mario Day - tomorrow, March 10, get it, MAR10? - everyone's favorite mustachioed plumber is grabbing the wheel in Google Maps.

Oh, and if you're wondering what March 10th has to do with Mario day.well, it's because of MAR10.

Super Mario Run can be found on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. You'll have to look for the question box icon that loads up in the app, tap it, and then you'll get a "Mario Time" message that means you're good to go. And now Mario is getting on the fun, too. "Mario time!", which will let you "navigate your world as Mario to celebrate Mario Day on March 10th". Google says the feature is rolling out globally to Maps users today and will last for one week.

Back in 2014, Google teamed up with Nintendo to hide Pokemon across Maps. - Mario. He'll be a constant companion wherever you're driving this week - to work, to school, or the spaghetti house.

"Mario Mode" will be available for a week, according to Nintendo. "Just do not forget to practice safe driving on the road-we don't encourage throwing bananas or red shells at other drivers in real life".
