Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang frustrated by Europa League absence

British media reports said there were thousands of empty seats in Arsenal's 3-0 Premier League win over Watford on Sunday despite the club selling 59,131 tickets, just short of their total capacity of 59,867 seats. When told after the game "Hector Bellerin is sure it wasn't a foul" Deeney had a classic quick response.

The Europa League absences along with the Bundesliga's winter break meant that Aubameyang only played once in January, but regular Premier League appearances have made life easier.

"Of course I am really happy (for Wenger) because I am here because of him".

Aubameyang hopes those frustrated Arsenal supporters will be buoyed by the team's performances against AC Milan and Watford. Whenever I play against Arsenal, I'll go up and think "let me whack the first one and see who wants it".

"I'm really disappointed because of these rules".

"What can I say?"

The Gunners became only the second team in the current top-flight era to crack a millennium of goals in their own backyard, behind rivals Manchester United, who achieved the feat some two years ago. He left the club with 165 clean sheets in the Premier League, being only 4 away of the previous record established by David James over 18 seasons and 572 games in the Premier League.

It ended a run of three successive Premier League losses for Arsenal.

"The spirit kept us out of trouble. We feel the confidence is back", Aubameyang said.

"But the most important thing is when the team wins".

Aubameyang is ineligible for Thursday's Europa League second leg against former club Milan, and so can not play for Arsenal again until their Premier League clash with Stoke on April 1.

Arsene Wenger's side followed up a fine Europa League display in Milan by getting back to winning ways in the league against the Hornets.
