Police search for NFL's Aldon Smith in domestic abuse case

Posted March 06, 2018

"The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries", a Sunday afternoon statement read in part. Smith told reporters that he had "done nothing wrong" in the incident. But the NFL, in reaction to his numerous brushes with the law and the league's substance abuse policy, suspended Smith for a year on November 17, 2015, and has yet to reinstate him.

Oakland's Aldon Smith is entering rehab.

"I'm scared for his life with his addiction", his fiancee told TMZ before she and her parents helped Smith get treatment at a rehab facility.

He hasn't played since those nine games with Oakland.

Now his fiancée tells TMZ that the former National Football League star has been checked into rehab following a domestic violence incident on Saturday night.

"The dispatcher said Smith was wearing a black 49ers sweatshirt and grey sweatpants". "He complied. They went and got him".

Smith has been arrested several times on charges of drunken driving, vandalism and illegal possession of assault rifles among other charges since the San Francisco 49ers drafted him in 2011 in the first round.

In an effort to find him, San Francisco police asked Smith to reach out to investigators.

If anyone has any information about Smith's whereabouts, authorities are urging them to call the San Francisco Police Department at 415-575-4444.

Smith was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2012, which is the same year he made the Pro Bowl and was named first-team All-Pro.
